Admissions - How to Apply to Veritas Classical Academy
Our thorough admissions process is designed to help you ascertain if Veritas would be a good fit for your family's needs and educational goals.
Veritas follows a discipleship model in our school community. We require all families affirm belief in the basic Christian doctrines contained in our Statement of Faith as part of our admissions process.
1. Attend an informational meeting.
These presentations are scheduled monthly and provide the best introduction to the school. Official admission packets are provided to families at the informational meeting. Children are welcome to attend with their parents.
2. Prayerfully consider Veritas as a fit for your family
Consider your family's needs and educational goals and whether Veritas could help you meet those goals. Additional resources you may want to consider as you learn about Veritas include
Repairing the Ruins, The Classical and Christian Challenge to Modern Education by Douglas Wilson
The Well-Trained Mind by Susan Wise Bauer
3. Complete The Application
Our application has three parts:
Part One: student information
Part Two: written responses
Teacher Questionnaire: Parents, please complete the top portion of the questionnaire form and give to your child’s current teacher. Ask that it be completed and returned directly to Veritas Classical Academy.
4. Family Q&A Meeting
Once your application has been reviewed, you will be contacted to schedule a Family Q&A. This meeting is for the purpose of discussing your family’s educational goals and if our methods and philosophy will further those goals. All incoming students, with the exception of incoming Pre-K students, will complete placement testing to ensure grade level readiness.
5. Admissions Decisions
Admissions decisions will be conveyed in writing as soon as possible after the interview. Included with your acceptance letter will be a tuition contract administrated through our service provider, FACTS. Your contract must be completed through FACTS, including payment of your registration fee no later than ten days after notice of acceptance. Your spot will only be held for ten business days.
6. Prepare for school
The preparation process includes purchasing books and uniforms and attending the August Co-teacher conference. A Welcome Packet will guide you through the process.
